Sydney's biggest celebration of south-east Asian culture and food - the Cabramatta Moon Festival – returns on Sunday 8 September.
From 9am to 8pm, the streets of Cabramatta will come alive with a variety of fun, family friendly activities and culinary delights, centred around Freedom Plaza and its iconic Pailau gates. Stalls open from 9am, with entertainment from 11am.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the Festival, now in its 21st year, recognises the important role that family and diversity play in the unique identity of Fairfield City.
"The Cabramatta Moon Festival is an experience that simply cannot be missed. From the entertainment and cultural displays to the food and carnival rides, there is something for absolutely everyone to enjoy," Mayor Carbone said.
"Every year, more than 90,000 visitors from across Sydney and NSW make the trip to Cabramatta to enjoy the sights, sounds and flavours of the Festival.
"The day captures everything that is great about the colourful and rich cultural identity of Cabramatta and the important history and stories of south-east Asia and its Moon Festival.
"Our city is a very diverse place and Council hosts a variety of festivals to celebrate our diversity from Illuminate at New Year, to Culinary Carnival.
"I look forward to welcoming everyone to Cabramatta on Sunday, 8 September."

SBS Pop Asia host, actor and martial artist Andy Trieu will join forces with ZE:A K-Pop idol Kevin Kim as part of a high-energy evening of pop, dance and audience participation with a jaw-dropping line up that will include dance powerhouses Harmony, DanceKool featuring Niramsin, and Kookies N Kream.
The evening will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks display at 8pm.
Earlier in the day, children will be wowed with two performances and a meet and greet with the cutest kitty in Cabramatta - Hello Kitty. Join Hello Kitty and her best friends as they sing and dance to some of their favourite songs at 12pm and 2pm with the Hello Kitty Karaoke Show. At 1pm, fans can meet Hello Kitty in the Moon Garden.
While in the Moon Garden, you can also meet the Moon Goddess and Archer, take photos among the cherry blossoms and moon installation, or enjoy the bubble magic.
A first for the Cabramatta Moon Festival will be the District 8 dining precinct. Stop by the corner of Cabramatta Road West and Railway Parade for a selection of delicious food and refreshing drinks, take a seat and soak in the atmosphere.
District 8 will also have a high-octane edge to it, with Hot Import Nights displaying a selection of high performance vehicles right next door. They will show a selection of modified Japanese, European, Australian and old-school cars, a motorcycle and an exotic super car. There will be DJs recreating the classic Southern California vibe as well as giveaways.
Across the entire festival site, there will be more than 35 food vendors to choose from, covering cuisine, desserts and snacks from around the world. Cabramatta is renowned as a destination for food lovers, with more than 130 restaurants, cafes and takeaway establishments boasting cuisine from around the world.
Matt Falloon and his Trained Balloons will also perform at 12pm. The international award-winning balloon artist will wow all ages with his hilarious show and blow everyone away with his balloon-bending antics.
This year there will be 13 amusement rides and inflatables, and 12 carnival games. There will be family rides and thrill rides, including a kid's dinosaur ride.

In Dutton Plaza there will be a free family fun zone. Children can play with Moon Playdough and Lego, make a paper craft lantern, or do some Moon Festival-themed colouring-in. There will also be a tiny tots inflatable for the smaller children. Bigger kids and adults will also enjoy the Virtual Reality Hub at Dutton Lane.
The crowd favourites will be returning, including the prawn peeling competition, children's chopstick challenge, noodle and moon cake eating competitions.
There will also be the traditional lion dance to kick off the celebrations, community performances, martial arts displays, market stalls, and the children's lantern parade led by the Moon Goddess. The celebrations will conclude with a colourful fireworks display.
